Roslyn Fay Brown

Roslyn Fay Brown, a vibrant spirit known for her devotion to family, her deep faith in God, and an adventurous spirit, passed away peacefully on May 7, 2025, at the age of 79. Born on July 12, 1945, to the late Clifford Brown Sr. and Edna Mae Olidge, Roslyn lived a rich and purposeful life rooted in love and guided by resilience. Roslyn was formerly married to Leary A. Tillman, with whom she shared the blessing of two daughters: Valeska Tillman Augustus (Michael) and Anika Tillman Glover. Though life took them on separate paths, her devotion to her family remained the center of her world. A proud graduate of Booker T. Washington High School, she later attended Southern University. Roslyn dedicated 33 years to public service at the Louisiana Department of Motor Vehicles. One of her most meaningful responsibilities was administering the driving test to individuals who couldn’t read, patiently guiding them through every question. Her role in road testing, however, came with its own share of drama; she was involved in more than a few fender-benders during those exams. Yet, in typical Roslyn fashion, she met each incident with humor and grace, often shrugging it off with a chuckle and a shake of her head. Even after her retirement, Roslyn's energy never slowed. Driven by a lifelong dream to explore the world, she returned to the workforce part-time, lending her talents to several security companies, using those earnings not for herself alone, but to fund her passion for travel. From bustling cities to quiet corners of the globe, she soaked in the cultures, colors, and stories of the world with wide-eyed wonder and gratitude. She was also a passionate sports fan, quick to debate stats and celebrate wins, but her heart belonged, unapologetically, to the New Orleans Saints. Game day was sacred, and whether the Saints marched to victory or heartbreak, Roslyn stood loyal, wearing black and gold with pride. Her heart for service extended beyond her career. In her later years, Roslyn volunteered at Ochsner Healthcare System, offering her time and energy to support patients and staff alike. Her presence there was a comfort to many, and a reflection of her enduring generosity. Roslyn was the treasured grandmother of Leah Anders, Michael Augustus II, Morgan Glover, and Katherine Glover. She was also a joyful great-grandmother to Rory Camper and Ryane Camper. Her family meant everything to her, and she poured love and wisdom into each generation. She is preceded in death by her parents, brother Clifford Brown Jr and sister Annie Ruth Williams. She is survived by her brother William Brown (Ethylon) and her sisters Bertha La' Neir, Ella Mae Brown, Bernice Greogory (Percelle) as well as a host of nieces, nephews, extended relatives, and close friends who will miss her indomitable spirit and generous heart. Family, friends, and colleagues from Edifice Protection Group, the Louisiana DMV, the New Orleans Police Department, Ochsner Healthcare System, and the Regular Baptist Church community are invited to celebrate her life on Tuesday, May 13, 2025, at 10:00 AM at Regular Baptist Church, 901 5th Street, Gretna, Louisiana 70053. Visitation will begin at 8:00am – 10:00am. Private Interment to follow at Providence Memorial Park and Mausoleum, 8200 Airline Drive, Metairie, Louisiana. Services entrusted to Duplain W.
