Rhonda H. Brock

Rhonda Harris Brock entered into eternal rest on Thursday, August 9, 2018 at the age of 54. Loving wife of the late Terry Wayne Brock. Devoted mother of Terry Wayne Brock II and Terrika Chanel Brock. Caring daughter of Washington “Smitty” Harris, Jacqueline Harris and Warren Mitchell. Beloved sister of Mark Mitchell, Hope Darensbourg (Ron) and the late Roderick Mitchell. She is also survived by a godchild Shieka Brock, lifelong friends Gwen Thomas, Deunca Thomas and Debra Major and a host of dedicated aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Rhonda was born Rhonda Marie Jacobs in New Orleans, LA. She was a graduate of Alcee Fortier High School Class of 1983. In 1984 she married Terry Wayne Brock, she became a widow in 1991. Being a single mother was difficult but she embraced the challenges and persevered. Rhonda never met a stranger! Everyone who knew her adored her caring spirit. Rhonda greeted everyone with an infectious smile and a kind word. She loved family! She sought ways to provide for a better life for her children and family by opening several businesses. She finished cosmetology school, and her dream was to be a successful entrepreneur. Rhonda enjoyed being a homemaker and later began working at Eastover as a Security Supervisor. She was a dedicated New Orleans Saints fan. She enjoyed watching the Saints, and recently, LSU football games immensely. Rhonda had an unwavering conviction! Through these last trying years, she remained prayerful and faithful. In fact, in her final days when she was no longer able to speak, she wrote, “My faith is greater than a mustard seed.” Rhonda enriched the lives of everyone around her and she will be deeply missed, but surely not forgotten. Relatives and friends of the family, also Pastors, Officers and Members of First Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church are invited to attend a funeral service at 10:00 AM on Saturday, August 18, 2018 at First Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, 2507 Perdido St. Rev.
