Patricia Domango Green

“I have fought the good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.” – 2 Timothy 4:7-8 In His infinite wisdom and tender mercy, the Almighty God called home one of His beloved daughters on August 2, 2025. Surrounded by love and cherished memories, Patricia Domango Green, age 69, of New Orleans, Louisiana, passed away peacefully. She was a remarkable woman of grace and strength, devoted mother, sister, aunt, and friend, who stood faithfully by those she loved and whose legacy will live on in the hearts she touched. Patricia Anne Domango (Green) was born on January 15, 1956, in New Orleans, Louisiana, to Victoria Smith and Narcisse Domango. A proud native daughter, she graduated from Booker T. Washington High School, carrying with her the values of discipline, determination, and faith that would guide her life. In 1995, she began working at The Elms Mansion, where she proudly served for 30 years. In 2010, she expanded her calling of service by becoming a Certified Nursing Assistant through the Dryades YMCA School of Commerce, providing care with compassion and dignity. Patricia gave her life to Christ at a young age and lived as a God-fearing woman whose faith was evident in every season of her life. She encouraged her children to live properly and to do the right thing simply because it was right. She stressed the importance of reading, making wise choices, and living with patience and grace. Her counsel often came wrapped in both love and truth, urging her loved ones to have their own experiences, maintain control over their lives, and understand their worth. She was as steadfast in her prayers as she was in her convictions, a woman who both nurtured and guided. Patricia’s life was a testament to resilience, adaptability, and unwavering faith. Her married years took her from coast to coast and across the globe, where she made homes filled with love on military bases and shared her gift of caregiving with children from all walks of life. A proud New Orleanian, she found joy in the sounds of Jazz, R&B, and Gospel, filling her home with music that reflected her soul. Patricia believed in guiding her children without living through them, urging them to cherish their own experiences, keep control over their choices, and always know their worth. Patricia leaves to cherish her precious memory her loving children, Tahnika M. Green and Albert Green III; her cherished grandson, George Aurthur Dyson V; her devoted sister, Gloria Connors; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends whose lives were better because of her love. She is preceded in death by her parents, Victoria Smith and Narcisse Domango; and her siblings, Willie Smith, Norris Domango, and Irma Thorpe. Though her earthly light has dimmed, the glow of her love, faith, and example will continue to shine in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a Funeral Service in honoring the life Mrs. Patricia Green at Macedonia Church of God in Christ, 3015 Louisa St., New Orleans, LA on Saturday, August 16, 2025 at 11:00am.
