Nelson Stockman Sr.

Nelson Brain Stockman, Sr., a proud native of New Orleans, passed away peacefully on September 17, 2025, at the age of 63. Born on August 20, 1962, Nelson was the beloved son of Thelma Armstrong and the late Peter Stockman Nelson met the love of his life, Deborah Raymond, while singing in the Gospel Soul Children Church Choir. The two were united in marriage and shared 41 loving years together. Their union was blessed with two sons, Nelson Stockman, Jr. and Brandon Stockman. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Thomas and Clara Landry and Peter Lawrence, Sr. and Matilda Stockman; his father, Peter Lawrence Stockman, Jr.; his aunts, Audrey Poullard and Rosemary Stockman. Nelson leaves to cherish his memory: His devoted wife of 41 years, Deborah Raymond Stockman; Two sons, Nelson Stockman, Jr. (Teriqua) and Brandon Stockman (Michelle); Four grandchildren, Levi Stockman, Lanisha Stockman, Nelson Stockman, III and Danell Peter Stockman; His loving mother, Thelma Armstrong of New Orleans, LA; Four siblings, Delissa Wilson (Curtis) of New Orleans, LA, Troy Stockman (Diane) of Baton Rouge, LA, Darryl Stockman (Stephanie) of New Orleans, LA, and Timothy Haynes of Las Vegas, NV; One brother-in-law: Lawrence Raymond (Penny); two sisters-in-law, Valerie Raymond and Lilly Raymond. He is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, church family, and friends who will miss him deeply. Nelson Stockman Sr. will be remembered for his service, his faith, his devotion to family, and the joy he brought to everyone who knew him.
