Michele Renee Clark Dent

On April 14, 2023, Michele Renee Clark Dent received her Heavenly crown at the tender age of 57. Michele loved the Lord and as a child she received Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. She was born on March 06, 1966 in New Orleans, La and was a longtime resident of Jefferson Parish. Michele attended Orleans Parish Public Schools and soared with honors. In 1984, she graduated from Alcee Fortier Senior High and was recognized as one of the top ten scholars of the class. She went on to pursue a career in the business industry working as a teller at several major banks, and gaming organizations; at the time of her death, she worked as a supervisor at the Fairgrounds in the Sportsbook Department. Money was her passion. Michele was a member of the Historic St. Peter AME Church choir. Michele never met a stranger and always was willing to lend a helping hand. Her energy was always positive, full of life and she could change the mood at any event. Her generous and loving spirit was the reason Michele was loved so dearly by many more than her immediate family. She will be deeply missed by mother, sister, brothers, in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Michele Clark Dent is preceded in death by her grandparents Thomas L. and Elizabeth Smith Mingo, her aunts Mary “momma Mary” Shannon and Delores “Diddie” Crawford, her nephew Darren Brown, and cousins Wayne Shannon and Anisha Crawford. Michele is survived by her devoted mother, Angeline M. Jackson. She leaves to cherish her memories: 1 sister and 2 brothers Quintella (Charles) Hawkins, brothers Darren Clark and Derrick (Shannon) Clark. Loving aunt of Dominique Hawkins (Youchrivia “Q”) Hill and Charles (Alyssa) Hawkins, Tasha Clark, Darionne, Arrione, and Brionne Martin. Michele is also survived by a host of great nieces and nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also employees of Fairgrounds Race Course & Slots (Sportsbook) Ochsner Medical Center, Waldo Burton School, Pastors, officers and members of the Historic St. Peter AME Church, and surrounding churches are invited to attend the celebration honoring the life of the late Michele Renee Clark Dent which will held at D.W. Rhodes Funeral Home, 3933 Washington Ave. on Friday, April 28, 2023 at 10:am. Visitation will begin at 09:00am. Pastor Russell A. Obee officiating. Interment will be private.
