Maurice Mario Marshall

Some people pass through this world quietly, while others leave footprints on every heart they touch. Maurice was one of those rare souls whose presence could brighten a room the moment he walked in. His laughter was contagious, his spirit strong, and his love for others genuine and deep. Maurice “Reese” Mario Marshall was born on August 12, 1993, in New Orleans, Louisiana, and grew up surrounded by the love of family in both New Orleans and Central Louisiana, where his roots remained deeply planted. From an early age, Maurice showed curiosity, determination, and a personality that naturally drew people to him. He had a gift for making people smile, and those who knew him will forever remember the warmth of his presence and the sound of his unforgettable laugh. Maurice faced challenges in life that many could never fully understand. Living with sickle cell disease required strength, patience, and courage. Yet through every struggle, Maurice continued to live his life with determination and heart. His battle was not just one of survival, but one of perseverance and bravery. He had sickle cell, but it never had him. Maurice discovered early on that he had a special gift when it came to cars. A self-taught mechanic, he could look at an engine and understand its story. Fixing things came naturally to him. Whether working under the hood of a car or helping someone in need, Maurice always found a way to make things better. To him, cars represented freedom, movement, and possibility. The sound of an engine and the open road spoke to his adventurous spirit. Outside of the garage, Maurice cherished time with family and friends. He enjoyed gaming, sharing laughs, and documenting moments of his life through vlogging. Those memories captured pieces of his personality that will forever remain in the hearts of those who loved him. But above all else, Maurice was a man with a big heart. He loved deeply and cared genuinely for the people around him. His love extended to his beloved fiancée, Samantha Garcia, and to his stepson, Trevon Williams, whom he held close to his heart. Maurice also shared a special bond with his best friend, who was more like a brother, Devante Dorsey, and a close friend, Brandon Louie. Their friendship was one built on loyalty, laughter, and years of shared memories. To his parents, siblings, and extended family, Maurice was not only a son and brother but a light that will never fade. Though his time on earth was far too short, the love he gave and the memories he created will live on in every story told, every laugh shared, and every quiet moment when his presence is deeply missed. Maurice leaves to cherish his memory his parents, Tanya Marshall and Mario Neveaux; his siblings, Marissa Marshall, Marco Marshall, Mario Martinez, and Marquise Neveaux; his beloved fiancée, Samantha Garcia; his stepson, Trevon Williams; along with many loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends. He is preceded in death by his grandmother, Joyce Marshall; his grandfather, Warren Nelson; and his grandfather, John C. Fulford. Maurice’s journey reminds us that a life is not measured by the number of years lived, but by the love shared and the hearts touched along the way and Maurice touched many.
