Martin Leon LeCour

Martin Leon LeCour passed away peacefully on June 18, 2023, at the age of 72, surrounded by his family. He was born in New Orleans, LA on August 28, 1951, to the late Louis and Florence LeCour. He was a native and long-time resident of New Orleans. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Mary Toves LeCour, his son Joseph (Carrilyn) LeCour, daughter Michelle (Stanley) Morlier, sons Michael Partee and David Partee; 12 grandchildren ~ Makayla, Evan, Dante, Bria, Stanley, Caleb, Michael Jr., Reyna, Breana, LaToiya, Davontae, and Mia; 4 great-grandchildren ~ Qiaunci, Giovanni, Jovan and Kaiden; siblings, Kathleen, Louis (Erromenta), Ann (Jerry), John (Cynthia) and Robert (Bernadine) LeCour; uncle to a host of nieces and nephews. He attended Holy Ghost High School in Opelousas and graduated from Xavier University in New Orleans. After graduating from Xavier, he worked in finance for the aerospace industry at Rohr, Inc. in San Diego, CA. where he met his wife Mary. He moved back to New Orleans and joined Martin Marietta/Lockheed Martin until his retirement in 2012. He was a dedicated Saints fan since the 1980s, and especially enjoyed attending the home games with his son Joey. A man of great faith, Martin was devoted to the Catholic Church, serving as a Eucharistic Minister for Immaculate Heart of Mary Church. He put family, above anything and was a foundation of peace, calm and strength to all those who knew him. Martin lived through truth, was always there to help those who needed him. He has been reunited with his mother and father, his sister Mary Louise, and his great-granddaughter, Mila Rose. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to the Funeral Mass of Christian Burial at Transfiguration of the Lord Church, 5621 Elysian Fields Avenue, New Orleans, LA 70122 on Monday, June 26, 2023; Visitation will begin at 9:00am followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00am.
