Marilyn Hayes Noflin

Marilyn “Mayleen” Hayes Noflin entered into eternal rest on Saturday, May 18, 2013 at her residence. She was born and raised in New Orleans Louisiana on March 16, 1948 to the late Rev. George and Aline Hayes. She graduated from Carver High School in New Orleans, Louisiana in 1966. She worked in the health profession as a Private Sitter for over 40 years. Her love and compassion for seniors brought true joy and fulfillment throughout her career. She accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Lord and Savior and was baptized in 1961 at Beaulah Baptist Church in New Orleans, Louisiana under the leadership of Rev. P. C. Harry. She was a true servant and served faithfully in the choir at Beaulah Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. James N. Dorsey, Jr., until her health began to decline. She later moved to Denham Springs, Louisiana in August of 2011 where she joined the Beacon Light Baptist Church of Hammond under the watchcare of Pastor Dennis R. Hebert, Jr. Marilyn a.k.a “Mayleen” was known for her kind and gentle spirit. She loved God’s people and always endeavored to go above and beyond to help others. She loved the Lord with all her heart and was determined to serve Him all the days of her life. She leaves to cherish her memories three (3) children Johnice Donyell Noflin, John Thomas Noflin and Jeronda Lynn Noflin-Bordenave; three (3) brothers William (Doretha “Eliza”) Hayes, James (Geraldine) Hayes, Peter (Shelly) Hayes. Eight (8) Grandchildren Brent, Alex and Alexis Ronquillo, Barry and Mario Sigur and Brooke Lynn Noflin, Yolanda Kenerson, Paige Bordenave; one (1) great grandchild, P'Aire Bush; one (1) son-in-law Barry Sigur and a special member of the family Barbara Bush. Close friends Jacqueline Smith and Carmelita Lagarde and a host of relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her father Rev. George Hayes, mother Aline Hayes and two (2) brothers George Jr. and Alex Hayes and grandson Prentis Ronquillo. Relatives and friend of the family are invited to attend the funeral service held on Thursday, May 23, 2013 at D.W. Rhodes Funeral Home, 3933 Washington Ave. at 11:00am.
