Manuel Paul Llorens Sr.

Manuel Paul Llorens, “Paul”, departed this life on Wednesday, November 20, 2024 at the age of 90. Paul was born in Melrose, Louisiana to the late Manuel and Hilda Ray Llorens , on July 19, 1934. In 1946, the family moved to Alexandria, Louisiana where he attended St. James Catholic School and graduated from St. James High School. After graduation, he moved to New Orleans to attend Xavier University, majoring in French. While at Xavier, he met his best friend and the love of his life, Beverly Demasiliere Llorens "Bev". They were married in December, 1960 and remained devoted to each other for the next 63 years. Paul's children were his pride and joy. First came Manuel "Rocky", followed by Ramon "Ray”, Sophia and Richard "Ricky". Paul’s granddaughters were his heart and soul. He was so very, very proud of Sydney Alexis Morris and Samantha Marie Morris. Paw-Paw’s face would light up whenever he would speak of “Paw-Paw’s girls.” His legacy will carry on through Bev, Rocky, Sophia, Sydney and Sami. Even though their hearts are broken, they have taken solace in the fact that Paul has been reunited, in heaven, with sons Ricky and Ray. Paul will be greatly missed by the newest members of the family, Kay, Jackson and Abigail Nelson. His love for his siblings was deep. Marion L. Thompson, Gloria L. Collins and James L. Llorens (Glenda) will remember him with love and admiration. He has joined his brother, Jerome L. Llorens and sister, Shirley L. Dejan in the presence of our Lord, as well as brothers-in law, Louis H. Demasiliere III, Errol R. Demasiliere Sr, Waldo Dejan and sister-in law Diana D. Goudeau and daughter-in-law Nicole C. Llorens. His sisters-in- law Vanessa A Demasiliere, Louise Llorens and Shirley Demasiliere will never forget him. Paul was loved and admired by a host of godchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, neighbors and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, members of the Downtowner’s Club, and Alumni of Xavier University are invited to a Catholic Funeral Mass in honor of Paul at Saint Joseph Catholic Church, 1802 Tulane Ave., New Orleans, LA on Monday, December 2, 2024. Visitation will begin at 9:00 AM. The rosary in honor of Our Lady will be said at 10: 00 AM with mass beginning at 10:30 AM. Interment will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, 2050 Caton St. All are invited to spend time with the family at a repast which will be held from 1:00-3:00 PM at Maison Blanche Event Hall located at 10040 I-10 Service Road in New Orleans.
