Lynn Bozant Terrance

On November 21, 2023, Lynn “Shirley” Bozant Terrance went to meet her king. She was born on August 31, 1940, to Thelma Laurent Bozant and Francis Edwin Bozant. Lynn is survived by three children - David Martin Terrance, Teresa Terrance Poche’ and Barry Andrew Terrance; three grandchildren - Raymel, Bradley and Alyssa Poche’; one great-grandchild – Dominick Poche’; two sisters – Alonda Bozant Harrison and Sherree Gath Green; and three brothers – Frank and Lester Bozant and Herman Gath. She was proceeded in death by her parents, her daughter Victoria Terrance, her beloved sister Brenda Bozant Davillier and her brother Ronald Bozant. Lynn attended Valencia C. Jones Elementary School, Corpus Christi Elementary School, and Xavier University Preparatory School, where she partook in many activities. She attended Los Angeles City College after her high school graduation and received her Paralegal Certification from the College of Liberal Arts at the University of New Orleans. In addition to founding and leading Girl Scout Troop 23 at Epiphany Elementary School, she was a member of the League of Good Government, LIFE, the Louisiana Independent Federation of Directors, Inc., Louisiana Young Democrats and People Power. Her first job was at McCrory Five and Dime Store, followed by a year teaching at Sacred Heart School in Slidell. She worked at Shell Oil Company in the 1960’s and later joined the Federal Aviation Administration before retiring from the United States Department of Justice in 2002. A mass of Christian burial will be held at 9:00 am (rosary from 8:00 am to 8:30 am, viewing form 8:30 am to 9:00 am) at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church, 1835 St. Roch Avenue, New Orleans, where Lynn was a 40+ year member, which will be followed by interment at St. Roch Cemetery #2, 1725 St. Roch Avenue, just two blocks from the church.
