Loyd Henry Brinson

Loyd Henry Brinson departed this life on Saturday, August 2, 2025, at the age of 73. He was born in Prentiss, MS on March 28, 1952, to the late Hezekiah Sr. and Luvella Magee Brinson. Loyd attended Orleans Parish Schools and graduated from Booker T. Washington Senior High School. He also attended North Carolina A&T State University before becoming ill. He had a passion for art and was a natural artist. Unfortunately, his paintings were lost in the Katrina event. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends. Loyd is survived by seven siblings. He leaves behind Yvonne Custard (Herman Custard), John Brinson, Curtis Brinson (Lisa Brinson), Regina Robinson, Alveretta Williams (Arthur Williams), Hezekiah Brinson, Jr (Yulanda Brinson) and Michael Brinson (Irma Brinson) and Phil Johnson, his special nephew. He was preceded in death by his parents, Hezekiah, Sr., and Luvella Magee Brinson and five siblings, Robert Fulton Brinson, Sr. (Gloria), Larry Brinson, Jerome Buckley (Evelyn), Carolyn Brinson, and Joyce Armstrong. He is survived by a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, family, and friends. The Brinson family would like to express our sincere appreciation and thanks to John J. Hainkel Jr.-Audubon Retirement Village for their many years of care provided to Loyd. We also thank all our family and friends for all your prayers during this time.
