Lisa Press

Her life began on October 25, 1965, with the union of Joesph and the late Yvonne H. Richards. She said farewell to us on the evening of October 31, 2023, at her home surrounded by her daughter Keocea, and son-in-law Brandon, and her loving sister & family by her side. Lisa was educated in St. Bernard Parish where she attended Lacoste Elementary and Nicholas P. Trist Middle School where she graduated from Andrew Jackson High School in 1983. Later she received her certificate as a CNA. She loved to help those who couldn’t help themselves. Lisa worked for Ochsner Hospital’s Main Campus on the 9th floor for many years. After leaving Ochsner due to health issues Lisa couldn’t return to work to take care of her patients whom she truly loved. As time went on Lisa found herself taking a part-time job in a setting taking care of elderly patients along with working with kids at TCA (Magic) Headstart Center. Lisa was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, friend, and godmother. Lisa is preceded by her loving parents Joseph and late Yvonne (BA) Young Richards She left to cherish her memory with her beloved daughter Keocea Lavonna Press, son-in-law Brandon Brooks, and GrandChild Brayden Jahmir Brooks (June Bug). Siblings Sharon T (Wilbert) Robinson, Josie (Byron) Santiago, Brother Huey Lee, Joseph(Shelia) Damond, Gaynell Warden and Rechell Carter, Tracy, Rainna and Shelean Richard. Niece of Dionjeanea Richards and nephews Malcon Sr and Brian Richards, Sesa Washington, and Great Nephwes of Malcolm Jr, Kerry Johnson Jr, Rodney Bell Jr. & Great Niece of Mariah Riley, and Bryshane Richards. She is survived by her Aunts and Uncles: Gloria (Wille) Davis, Delores and Clara Alveris, Bernadine Bienemy, John Richards, Ralph and George Duplessis, Roland Alveris, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends. Lisa is preceded in death by her grandparents Gustive Sr. and Celestine Young, and the late nephew Ceyonne Brian Richards. Arrangement by D. W.
