Keenan Dewayne Duckworth

The world lost an extremely extraordinary man. On Monday, August 2, 2021 Keenan Dewayne Duckworth peacefully entered eternal rest in the comfort of his home surrounded by his family. He was married to his childhood best friend and loving wife, Karen Green Duckworth. From this phenomenal union, Keenan became the devoted father to a son, Keenan Dewayne Duckworth, Jr and a daughter, Keveia Duckworth. Born on March 12, 1958, to the late Dorothy and James Duckworth. He is proceeded in death by his two brothers, James T. Duckworth and Kelvin N. Duckworth. He leaves to cherish his brother: Juet L. Duckworth; step-brother: Jason Banks; god-sister: Sharon Labostrie; two god-children: Julie Parquet and Shawn Green as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and other family and friends. Keenan was educated by the Orleans Parish School System. He later became a carpenter where was a member of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America/ New Orleans Local 1846. Keenan was a family man who cared deeply for his family. Hanging out on the deck with some good food and a beer, enjoying his family and friends would be considered a great day in his book. He was lovable and always cracking jokes. Not only did he resemble Bernie Mac, he kept you laughing just as hard as the comedian himself, hence the reason for the nickname of "Bernie Mac". He would put a smile on anyone's face he came in contact with. In his spare time, he was a master fisherman and a devoted New Orleans Saints fan. Duck would fish from sun up to sun down and would come back elated with an ice chest full of fish. And let’s not forget, he had to pose for a picture with his biggest catch. Being a true Saints fan was an understatement when it came to his "Saints". He would never miss watching a game in his "Saints" theme man cave while throwing down on the grill. KEENAN WAS THE LIFE OF EVERY PARTY!! Family and friends are invited to attend the Home Going Celebration for Keenan Duckworth at Rhodes Funeral Home, 3933 Washington Avenue on Saturday, August 14, 2021. Visitations will begin at 12:00 noon followed by the celebration at 1:00 pm. Due to COVID-19, everyone is required to wear a mask and social distance. NO EXCEPTION.
