Judy Johnson Carter

Judy Johnson Carter was born to the union of Thomas Johnson Jr. and the late Shirley Sentmore Johnson on September 27, 1956 in New Orleans, La. Judy was granted her angel wings on Monday, January 18, 2021 at the age of 64. Her final days were spent surrounded by her family as she requested. Although she experienced health issues, she was feisty and fought until the very end. Judy was very passionate about her education. She was a graduate of John McDonough Senior High School. Later she received her Bachelors to become a counselor in addictive behavior and prevention and was currently pursuing her Masters at Southern University of New Orleans. Judy was a dedicated and loyal employee at Bridge House of New Orleans, Integrated at Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport, and Strive Inc. When not working or attending school, Judy enjoyed shopping, attending Sunday Mass, and spending time with her family and friends. Judy is preceded in death by her paternal grandmother Ada Johnson, her paternal grandfather Thomas Johnson Sr., her maternal grandmother Beatrice Sentmore, and maternal grandfather Henry Sentmore Sr. Judy is survived by her two sons, Lonnie Grant Jr. and Reginald Carter; a devoted Daughter In Law Ashley Grant; two brothers, Thomas Johnson III & Apollo Johnson; four sisters Debbie Cotton (Jess), Ada Bercey (Bobby), Beatrice Allen (Carl), & Lisa Johnson; seven grandkids Lonnie Grant, Tycen Grant, Imani Grant, Taegen Grant, Ha’san Grant, Ha’keim Grant, & Lonnie Grant; devoted friends Betty, Trina, & Patricia; a dedicated nurse Renee Davis, and a host of nieces and nephews, family and friends. Judy will be forever remembered, forever loved, and forever missed by those who truly loved her. Relatives, coworkers, and friends of the family are invited to the Visitation on Saturday, January 30, 2021 at 9:00am to 10:00am at Duplain W.
