Irvin W. Morgan Jr.

Irvin W. Morgan, Jr., entered eternal rest on April 20, 2026, in Trussville, Alabama, after a lengthy illness. He was born on July 30, 1950, in New Orleans, Louisiana, to the late Irvin W. Morgan, Sr. and Ethel Batiste Morgan. A graduate of McDonogh 35 Senior High School, Irvin earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics from Tulane University and later received an MBA in Finance and Accounting from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. He also earned a Ph.D. in Finance from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and a Master of Divinity degree from Andover Newton Theological School. Irvin’s distinguished career included positions with Bell South, Chrysler, Sara Lee, John Deere, Rockwell International, and United Technologies/Carrier. He later founded I. Morgan and Associates, Inc. He also served as a professor of finance and business at Dillard University, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Bentley University, and Worcester Polytechnic Institute. A devoted man of faith, Irvin faithfully served in numerous churches throughout his life and was ordained as an American Baptist minister in 2008. He also served on the Board of Goodwill Industries of Southeastern Louisiana. He was preceded in death by his son, Jamal Morgan; his parents; his sisters, Cynthia Morgan Bason and Sylvia Morgan; his brother, Orin Morgan; his former wife, June Elloie Morgan; and his wife, Annette Tardy Morgan. He leaves to cherish his memory his daughter, Dominique Elloie Morgan Solomon of Detroit, Michigan; his grandchildren and great-grandchildren; his sister, Phyliss Morgan Spragin (Ore) of Trussville, Alabama; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, friends, and loved ones.
