Eyck Craig Wimby Sr

Eyck Craig Wimby, Sr., answered the call to eternal rest on Tuesday, May 16, 2023, at the age of 43. He attended Nichols High School (Fredrick A. Douglass) and later received his G.E.D. in the State of Louisiana. He was a member of The Potters House of Dallas, TX, and Beacon Light International Baptist Cathedral of New Orleans, LA. He worked as a truck driver for Liberty Tire Recycling Co, where his passion for the road grew. He later became an Owner/Operator of a business shared with his wife, Anchored Logistics, LLC, a freight transportation company whose slogan is, “We Tread with Purpose.” Eyck was a gentle giant. A man of kind words. He had skilled hands that mastered everything he touched. From birth, his mother knew his hands were special. At a youthful age, his first project was building a small sweetshop out of wood borrowed from the neighbor’s siding. As he grew older, he developed a passion for cooking and grilling NOLA style. He also enjoyed fixing cars, playing chess, and building things. He was a man of order. He loved nature and all of God’s creations, hence everything creeping and crawling. He was competitive and determined to have things his way. More importantly, he had an extremely kind heart and brought joy to everyone’s life. The love that he displayed throughout his life toward others was a direct reflection of his love for Jesus Christ. He further advanced his skills by receiving certifications in Culinary Arts, Veterinarian Prep, and Christian studies. Eyck was born to the late Earl C. Wimby, III, and Anna Guillemet Wimby, on June 30, 1979, in New Orleans, LA. Brother of the late Tracey A. Broome, and Earl C. Wimby, IV (Woogie). He was preceded in death by his Wimby and Guillemet grandparents, and his nephew Torian A. Broome. He was a loving father to Damon Q. Weaver, Asia C. Wimby, Eyck C. Wimby, Jr., Emoni C. Wimby, and Chyna A. Farrar. He adored them all. He leaves to cherish his memories, his wife, Israel Wimby; sister, Erika W. May (Sammie); brother, Yedidiah Louis; granddaughter, Lauryn M. Weaver, and expecting “baby” Finley; aunts, Elizabeth Hawk (Terry) and Elayne W. Birch; uncles Carl, Pershing, Eustis and Earl Guillemet; mother-in-law, Sheron V. Weaver; father-in-law, Chris Weaver III (Debra); godfather, Sam Francis; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, godchildren, and dear friends. Eyck’s life exemplified the meaning of resilience, it tells a story of how one can persevere, walk upright, remain Holy, and without blemish. He leaves a legacy that by faith, you can conquer adversity and finish the race strong, ultimately receiving your eternal reward. Ephesians 2:27 Ecclesiastes 9:11 KJV
