Errol John Ware, Esq. entered into eternal rest on Thursday, August 9, 2018 at the age of 75. Husband of Deborah Carrie Ware. Son of the late Clarence and Helen Woods Ware. Father of Errol Clarence Ware (Ingrid) and H. Daniel Ware (Iris). Stepfather of Eddie Lee Shannon, III. Brother of the late Alvin and Frances Ware. Step-grandfather of Logan. Son-in-law of the late Ernest and Mary Ann Carrie. Brother-in-law of Paulette Bethel (Ralph), Gregory Carrie (Joann), Dianne White (Tyronne), Pamela Carrie, Faye Shelby, Terrie Guerin (Kurt), Ernest Carrie (Kim), Winthrop Carrie and Michelle Carrie. He is also survived by a host of other relatives and friends. Errol attended Dillard University where he received a Bachelor of Arts degree. Later he attended the University of Illinois, School of Law, juris doctorate, W. Clement Stone Fellowship. He worked as the Ad Hoc Judge for the Municipal Court and Legislative Assistant to state representative, a Staff Attorney and Investigator for the Louisiana Department of Justice in the organized crime and racketeering division, a Practicing Attorney and was the attorney of the Indigent Defender Program, an Upward Bound Graduate Assistant and Dorm Director, Counselor and the Chief Investigator of the Louisiana Real Estate Commission. Errol was the former president and treasurer of former Mayor Morial’s political organization, LIFE, former board member of the Community Organizations for Urban Politics, former chairman of the board of directors and founder of R.E.A.L., former chairman of the board and founder of C.A.R.E., member of the Mississippi River Bridge Advisory Committee, former national officer at Dillard University, Honorary Aide-De-Camp of Governor’s Office, Honorary Criminal Sheriff, Honorary Captain of the New Orleans Police Department and member of the advisory committee for the Conveyance Office. Relatives and friends of the family, also employees of Errol John Ware Law Firm, customers and friends of Salon Du’ Carrie, alumni of Dillard University, members of the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity and Prince Hall Masons are invited to attend a Memorial Service at D.W. Rhodes Chapel, 3933 Washington Ave., on Monday, August 27, 2018 at 11:00 am. Visitation begins at 8:30 am. Rev. Dr. Paulette Bethel officiating. The Omega Service begins at 10:00 am.
