Edgar Tilton Jr.

Edgar Tilton Jr. passed away peacefully on March 25, 2018 at the age of 56 years old. Born on November 4, 1961 to Lola Tilton and the late Edgar Tilton, Sr, Edgar was the husband of 29 years to Monica Dailey-Tlton and was the loving father of 10 children, Edgar Tilton III, Edricka Tilton, Eddrick Tilton, Shendricka Russell, Zina Carr-Gould, Antonio Randolph, Tatiana Randolph, Jasmine Randolph, and the late Patrick and Shaunta Stewart. He was also the devoted older brother of Dolores Edwards and Eddie Tilton. A lifelong resident of New Orleans, Edgar attended Francis T. Nicholls Senior High School and was a proud graduate of John F. Kennedy Senior High School. He also served his country as a member of the United States Army. Edgar was no stranger to hard work as evidenced by the many jobs he held over the years including TLC Car Wash, La Madeleine’s Restaurant, The Times Picayune, Sewerage and Water Board, Howard’s Pile Driving. Beyond work, Edgar was extremely devoted to his family and could often be found helping his parents and his sister, enjoying his children and grandchildren, hanging out with his brother Eddie, or on the grill at some Lewis/Tilton/Lotts family function. Edgar is preceded in death by children, Patrick and Shaunta Stewart and his father, Edgar Tilton Sr. He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife Monica, his children, Edgar Tilton III, Edricka Tilton, Eddrick Tilton, Shendricka Russell (Andy), Zina Carr-Gould (Rodney), Antonio Randolph, Tatiana Randolph, and Jasmine Randolph, his sister Dolores Edwards (Russell Sr.), his brother Eddie Tilton (Sharon), 1 godchild Shandrika Williams, 12 grandchildren, devoted friend Jamaica, and a host of family and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, pastor, officers, and members of St. Paul COGIC and Abundant Life Tabernacle Church, and employees of S&WB, E1 Electrical, La Madeline Restaurant, Howard’s Pile Driving, TLC Clothes Line Car Wash, The Times Picayune, United State Postal Service, John F Kennedy Senior High School, Dillard University and Loyola University are invited to attend the funeral service which will be held at St. Paul Church God of Christ, 1020 Forstall St. on Saturday, April 7, 2018 at 10:00 am.
