Danny Harris

Danny Harris was born in New Orleans, LA to Louise and Ivory Harris. He made his transition to his heavenly home on May 23, 2018. Danny accepted Jesus Christ at an early age and was baptized at Mt. Pilgrim Baptist Church in New Orleans, LA. He was united in marriage to Sharon Robinson in 1990 for 28 loving years. Danny graduated from Warren Easton High School and attended Delgado Community College. While living in New Orleans, he was employed as a Longshoreman with the International Longshoreman Association Local 3000 where he retired. He then launched a successful Lawn Care business, providing quality service to individuals in the Greater New Orleans area. Danny was very organized and meticulous about everything he did in life. Danny enjoyed photography, baking cakes, and traveling. He also loved attending gatherings and celebrations with family and friends. He was a stranger to no one. He would talk easily and freely to any person he’d meet in the grocery store, doctor’s office, gas station, restaurant or neighborhood. He kept in contact with high school friends, co-workers, and acquaintances. Danny invested in forming relationships with others. He is preceded in death by his father, Ivory Harris; his brother, George Harris (Marie); nephew, Sean Harris (Isey) and niece, Sheila Ann Murdock (Pervis). He was treasured deeply as a husband, son, brother, uncle, and friend. He is survived by his wife, Sharon Harris; mother, Louise Francis Harris; his siblings: Roy (Nelida) of Ama, LA., Tyrone (Beryl), Donald (Patricia), Rita, Calvin (Stephanie), Janet, Pauline Rogers (Leroy), Timothy (Pearlie) all of Greater New Orleans, LA.; and Darlene McClue (Kevin) of LaPlace, LA. His sisters-in-law Barbara Johnson (Aaron) and Keyshia Boyd (Walter) of Katy, Texas. Danny also leaves a host of uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends who loved him dearly. And while Danny did not have any biological children, he was like a father to a host of nieces, nephews, and God-children, who will forever cherish the memories and experiences they had with him. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral services at 10:00 AM on Saturday, June 2, 2018 at Little Zion Missionary Baptist Church, 2200 Kenner Ave, Kenner LA. 70062.
