Clarence Sherman Wilson

Clarence Sherman Wilson, affectionally referred to as “Quank”, peacefully transitioned from his earthly life on February 3, 2026, at Ochsner Medical Center in Gretna, Louisiana. Born on May 23, 1940, in Boothville, Louisiana Clarence was the son of the late Charles, Wilson, Sr. and Agnes Hutchinson Wilson. Clarence was also preceded in death by his wife Janis Bell Wilson, his brothers Allen (Lou), Nolan (Rebecca) and Peter (Orestine) Wilson, his sister Rose Ethel Wilson and 2 brothers in law Leonard Black, Jr. and Larry Avist, Sr. Clarence was employed by the Mississippi Grain Elevator (now CHS- Myrtle Grove Terminal Elevator) until he retired. Quank liked to have a good time. He always enjoyed the company of family and friends especially on Sunday’s when he and his brother Charles would watch football games together. Left behind to share fond memories of Clarence are his brothers Charles, Jr. (Theresa) and Carroll Wilson, Sr., sisters Delores Black and Agnes Avist and stepsons Khaalid Muhammed, Michael Bell and Brian Bell. His four-legged BEST FRIEND, Riley. In addition to a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Relatives and Friends of the family are invited to attend the Visitation at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, 8968 Highway 23 Belle Chasse, Louisiana 70037 on Saturday, February 14, 2026 from 9:00am until 10:00 am followed by a funeral mass.
