Carlous Linnerius Nicholas

Carlous Linnerius Nicholas entered eternal rest on July 8, 2026. He was born on October 18, 1958, in New Orleans, Louisiana, to the late Melvin Nicholas and Esther Lawless. He attended Booker T. Washington High School and later enlisted in the United States Army, where he served honorably. Throughout his life, Carlous worked as a CDL truck driver and was also employed by Sunbeam Bakery. He most recently worked at Rouses Market where he became known for preparing delicious grilled steaks and potatoes. Many came for the food but left remembering the man who served it. Gifted with his hands, Carlous had a natural talent for drawing and painting, a gift that lives on through his children and grandchildren. He also had a deep love for music and dancing where he was a member of a musical group known as The 5 Spades, in his youth. He was a man of faith who faced life's challenges with hope, patience, and an optimistic spirit, rarely allowing hardship to steal his joy. He often encouraged those he loved to pray, be patient, and trust that God would take care of everything in His perfect timing. Carlous will be remembered as a man whose smile and presence could light up any room. He took pride in his appearance and was known for always being impeccably dressed. He was charismatic and full of life, with a rare blend of wisdom, charm and humor that drew people to him wherever he went. Above all, Carlous treasured his family. Nothing brought him greater joy than having his children and grandchildren together. His warm spirit, generous heart, and enduring love for his family will remain his greatest legacy. Carlous leaves to cherish his memory his children, Umeka Nicholas Alexander (Benjamin), Renada Nicholas, and Carlous Nicholas II; his stepchildren, Cierra Weatherspoon, Cardell J. Leblanc, and Trinease Matthews (Brandon); his siblings, Esperanza Young, Melvin Nicholas Jr., Quinzetter Nicholas McCullum (Sammy), Danielle M. Dobard (Rafael), Shante Johnson, Richard Hall (Monica), and the late Brian Nicholas; his grandchildren, Nathan Talford Jr., Rasaan Talford, Carlmajz Nicholas, Nicholas Alexander, Jhase Sweat, Cartel Nicholas, and Logan Alexander; his great-grandson, Jayden Talford; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Carlous will be deeply missed and forever cherished by his family, friends, and all whose lives he touched. Though he is no longer with us in body, his love, laughter, wisdom, and the memories he created will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. May he rest in eternal peace.
