Camilla (Audrey) Williams

Camilla (Audrey) Williams born to the late Joseph Anderson Sr and Camilla Batiste on August 16, 1940 in Belle Alliance, LA. She departed this earth on Saturday, December 11, 2021. Audrey accepted the Lord Jesus Christ at an early age then again at Greater Mt Rose Baptist Church where she was a faithful tither and became a member. She was educated in Assumption Parish school system and was a hard-working woman. She retired working with author and writer Mrs. Anne Rice as her personal assistant for almost 40 years, all while still caring for many others and those she loved. Audrey was the Godmother of Dwight Marshall, Anthony Starks, Jamal Anderson, Kevin Whitney, Jerimie Carmouche, and Lerone Hines Sr., Joyce James, Edith Carmouche. Audrey enjoyed being around family and friends and was the life of the party. She cooked with love and was known for many famous recipes especially her macaroni. If it was anything you need, she made sure of it and gave you the shirt off her back. A fan of the New Orleans Saints and her scratch offs. Throughout her years of life, she met and married the late Joseph Bougere and, in this union, she had 2 children, Dora (Matt) Roberson and Merke Paul Bougere Sr. Years later she married again to the late Wilfred Williams, Jr. where the late Wilfred (Pop) Williams, III, Doretha (Clifford) Jones and Paulette Williams were born. Audrey was the sister in-law of Emmanuel Duncan, Patricia Champagne, Marie (Roosevelt) Thomas, Leoance (Madeline) Williams and Clarence Jones, Sr. Audrey is preceded in death by both parents, Camilla and Joseph Anderson; her son, Wilfred (Pop) Williams, III and all of her siblings, 4 brothers, Rev. Alfred Anderson, Harry Anderson Sr., Rev. Wilbert Andy Anderson Sr. and Joseph Anderson Jr.; 6 sisters, Rose Duncan, Olivia McBride, Annie Mae Starks, Viola Wilson, Yvonne Anderson and Leona Duncan. Audrey leaves to cherish her memories upon her children, her 10 grandchildren Rickell Williams, Shante Timmons, Kewanda Williams, Merke (Paul) Bougere Jr. Kelly Alexander, Keith Williams, Ernest Turner IV. Rayshanda Mathis, Dominique Bougere, and Jonae’ Wells. 13 great grandchildren, Jermaine Williams, Maysee Reese, Lerone Hines Jr. Jerome Timmons III. Jamie Cooper, Keiara Williams, Jasmine Timmons, A’mor Mathis, Legacy Williams, Nori Williams, Ja’Carri Strickland, Sage Johnson, and Marley Mc’Kinley. 1 great-great grandchild, Carter Miles and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. All friends, pastors, and members of Greater Mt. Rose Baptist Church, City of Love, Jo Ellen Smith nursing home, Duval School Board (Jacksonville, FL) Wilkson County School district, (Woodville, MS) RTA of New Orleans, Jefferson Parish school, Chick-fil-A, and Greyhound are invited to attend the Celebration of Life at Greater Mt. Rose Baptist Church located at 1318 Simon Bolivar, New Orleans LA, 70115 on Tuesday, December 21, 2021 at 11:00 am with Evangelist Carolyn Murray, Officiant. Visitation will begin at 10:00 am.
