Brenda Thompson Jackson

In my Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I will go and prepare a place for you. John 14: 2-3 On Saturday morning, August 30, 2025 God, in His unmatched power, called his precious daughter, Brenda Thompson Jackson to eternal rest. All our blessings come from God. (Psalms 30: 5). On November 7, 1945 we were blessed with our dearest Brenda Thompson Jackson who was born in New Orleans, Louisiana. Brenda was the beloved daughter of the late Elenora B. and Booker T. Thompson Sr. She was the second oldest of their eight children. Brenda was a devoted Christian, who trusted God all the days of her life. She accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Savior, at an early age, while attending Caver Desire Baptist Church where she was baptized. Brenda transferred her membership to New Creation Baptist Church, where she faithfully served as the Choir president and was a member of the Pastor’s Aid Society. She decided to move her membership to New Hope Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the Late Reverend John C. Raphael Jr. She was a very hard-working servant who completed a 4 year degree in Christian education. Brenda received her education in New Orleans, La. Where she attended St. Raymond Catholic School and the New Orleans Public Schools (Nelson, Caver Jr. and Caver Sr. High School), where she graduated from, C/O 1964. She received an Associate Degree from the University of New Orleans in computer science. Brenda worked at Kaiser Aluminum Company where she retired after 30 years Brenda was the devoted and caring wife of William Warren Jackson Sr., for 45 years, they had a very special unbreakable bond. She was the loving mother of Tyrone (Chyrl) Thomas, stepmom to William Jr. and Rachel Jackson and Lynette (John) Perez; Big Sister to Easter L Thompson; Grandmother of Asia (Tamara) E. Howard). Bonus grandmother of Jontue’ (Michael) Thomas, Brandy (Stephen) Landry, Raynell Jahnelle Javier and Rajae Jackson. Brenda was a very compassionate and strong hardworking woman who loved God, her family and everyone she came in touch with. She loved helping others whenever she could. Brenda is preceded in death by her parents; Eleanor B. and Booker T. Thompson Sr.; her siblings, Harry Caffie, Booker T. Jr., Lucius Michael and Louis Thompson; bonus son Gerald Roy Morgan, Grandsons; William Warren Jackson, III (Bubba) and Daniel Perez; her nephew, Darren B. Thompson. She leaves to cherish the delightful memories of her earthly existence, her devoted nieces Vonda and Kenya Thompson, Chaila Williams (Darrell) Jones, Louise E. Scott, and Tanya Riley, nephews; Corey C Thompson. Harry, Barry and Larry Riley, Ndabaningi Robinson, sisters-in-law; Alberta and Mary Louise Thompson, Devoted friends; Mary Cindy Robinson, Lolita Howard, and Johnnie Mae Bridges. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Service at D. W. Rhodes Funeral Home, 3933 Washington Avenue, New Orleans, LA on Saturday, September 13, 2025 at 1:00pm.
