Anthony Myles Caldwell

Anthony “Lil Tony” Myles Caldwell, beloved son, brother, grandson, nephew and friend transitioned from Earth to glory on May 26, 2018 at the age of 29. He was a lifelong New Orleanian. Lil Tony graduated from Edna Karr High School and attended Dillard University and the University of New Orleans. He is known for his wit, being soft spoken, having a quiet and valiant spirit, his willingness to help others, his sense of style and his love for family and friends. Tony’s close friends will also remember him for his independent spirit, being adventurous, his courageousness, and being a generous spender. Lil Tony was born to the marriage of Lisa Miller and Anthony “Tony” Caldwell. He was the beloved step-son of Alex Duplessis. Tony worked as a sales associate for Sears Department Store for several years. Most recently, Tony was employed by Sewerage & Water Board of New Orleans where he was an operator. Tony always took opportunities for advancement and encouraged others to do the same. His co-workers were like a second family to him. His supervisor thought of him as son. Tony was a car enthusiast. He loved fast cars and motorbikes. He also liked traveling with friends, shopping and seeking out his next adrenaline rush. Although Tony’s life was brief he has had many life experiences that most do not experience in a lifetime including skydiving. He truly lived life to the fullest. Tony is survived by his parents Lisa and Alex Duplessis and Anthony Caldwell; his sister Alexis Duplessis; step siblings Graylen Duplessis (Christie) and Tara Nelson (Devin); his grandmothers Brenda Miller and Carrie Caldwell. His aunts Stephanie Mack (Keith), Demetria Trufant, Alicia Isidore, Monica Couvertier (Robert), Marcia Lightell (Leonard Jr.),Veronica Shaffer (Mike), Patricia Morris (late Bill), Catherine Brumfield (late Maurice), Sherri Caldwell, and uncles Kyle Isidore (Ranada), Emery Tinson (Joyce), Rodney Isidore, Gabriel Duplessis (Lee) and Andre Caldwell; godparents Paulette and Corey Baker Sr.; his god-son Jace Hingle; his god-daughter Skyler Smith; devoted friends Jerel and Janae Jones and a host of great-aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Relatives, friends and employees of the Sewerage & Water Board of New Orleans, congregations of St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church of Ironton, La and Resurrection Catholic Church of Eastern New Orleans are invited to attend Tony’s funeral service on Saturday, June 2, 2018 at D.W. Rhodes Chapel, 3933Washington Ave. New Orleans, LA 70125 at 12:00 pm. Visitation commences at 11:00 am. Interment will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
