Shirley Rosemary Larche Soublet

Shirley Rosemary Larche Soublet passed away suddenly on January 3, 2018 at Touro Hospital in New Orleans with many close family members at her side. She recently celebrated her 90th birthday on November 13, 2017 with many family members as well. Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Soublet Sr, her parents, Joseph Larche Sr. and Elsie Robichaux Ferrand, sister, Ruth Larche Augustine (the late Justin Augustine), brother, Joseph Larche Jr. (Anna), sisters, Joyce Larche Fleury (Martinel), Gail Larche Ancar (Dale), mother and father-in-law, Antonia Maxmillion Soublet and Emile Soublet Sr., brothers-in-law, Emile Jr., Charlie, Lloyd, Alvin, Louis, and Edward Soublet (Lavania), sisters-in-law, Louise Barthe and Linda Rodgers. Cherishing her memories are her six children, Lawrence Soublet Jr. (Beatrice) GA, Myra S. Bertrand (Ronald), Rosalyn S. Porter (the late Leon Porter), David Soublet Sr. (Tanja), Philip Soublet Sr. (Suzette) and Steven Soublet Sr. (Chimela), 14 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews. She is also survived by sisters, Yvonne Larche Rachal (the late Joseph Rachal), Yvette Larche Gilyot (Arthur), and Pamela Larche Broussard (Herman), sisters-in-law, Audrey Coleman (the late Richard Coleman) and Beverly Foster (the late Walter Foster). Shirley was a lifelong resident of New Orleans, devoted wife and mother, patient comforter, prolific writer, collector of inspirational words of wisdom, champion of education and a constant source of solace and encouragement for family and friends alike. Relatives and friends of the family, also Priest and Parishioners St. Peter Claver Catholic Church and employees of the Sewerage and Water Board of New Orleans, Orleans Parish Assessor’s Office, T-Mobile Communications, AMPF Inc. and Chateau De Notre Dame are invited to attend Shirley’s Funeral Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30am on Friday, January 12, 2018 at St. Peter Claver Catholic Church, 1923 St. Philip Street, New Orleans, LA. 70116.
