Neijha Luke

Neijha Marie Luke entered into eternal rest on August 26, 2023. She was 61 years old. Neijha was born to Albert Clivens, Jr. and Clarice Lobrandon on June 27, 1962. She was a native of New Orleans, LA and a resident of Harvey, LA. In 1976, as a teenager she met Benjamin Luke, Sr., and the two fell in love. They married on April 18, 1981, and to this union were born three children: Rominy, Benjamin Jr., and Timothy. Neijha studied Nutrition and Food Service Management and Dietetics at Delgado Community College, graduating in the Class of 2001. She worked at Hancock Fabrics, and served as the supervisor of Food Service at Sodexho from 2001-2008. She worked as a cook at Laborie’s from 2018 until her passing. The job Neijha was most proud of was ministering to others through songs of praise and worship as a member of the praise team at Word of Truth Fellowship. Neijha will be remembered for her love for God, infectious smile, fun-loving personality, kindness, cooking, family, and service to others. She is preceded in death by her father Albert Clivens, Jr., her mother Clarice Lobrandon, sister Deirdre Williams, father-in-love Albert Luke, Sr., mother-in-love Marian Luke, and brother-in-love Albert Luke, Jr. Neijha leaves to cherish her memory her loving husband of 42 years, Benjamin Luke, Sr.; her children, Rominy Luke, Benjamin Luke, Jr., and Timothy Luke; her siblings Albert Clivens III, Gidget Walker, Stacey Davenport (Keith), Candice Dinet (Armond), Chanda Allen, and Ivory Lobrandon, Jr; her siblings-in-love Lisa Luke and Undra Luke; and a wealth of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Neijha's memory will be forever cherished by all who were touched by her beautiful personality, her giving nature, and deep love for God. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers and members of Word of Truth Fellowship, are invited to attend the Funeral Service at Word of Truth Fellowship, 5333 Tullis Dr. New Orleans, LA on Saturday, September 9, 2023.
