Ferdinand Alvin Francis

Scripture: Romans 8:28 - And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, who are called according to his purpose. Ferdinand A. Francis was the beloved husband to Andrea Francis for 46 years of marriage that he cherished. Unto that reunion was born Keith (Dione) Austin, Bryan A. Austin, Laniel (Winfield) Barnes, and Ashley L. Francis. He was a native of Avondale. He resided in Harvey, Louisiana. He was preceded into death by his father Laurence (Son) Francis and his mother Shirley Scott Francis. His siblings Elridge Holmes, Anthony Francis, Moses Francis, Linda, Brenda, Larry, Harry, Diane Francis, and Marion Simmons. In that reunion, was born Edward (Eula) Holmes, Agayther M. Adams, Sheila (Norman) Taylor, Elaine (Johnny) Washington, Sonia Woods, Paulette Francis, Reginald (Therese) Francis, and Kenneth (Clarisse) Francis. Nine grandchildren Vonique Miller-Austin, Nya McMillian, Tyrese Austin, Giazz’e Francis, Joseph Jackson, Kya Austin, Bryan Austin Jr., Makir Francis, and Dylan Austin. A devoted sister-in-laws Joycelyn H. Robinson and Vanessa Austin. Two God children LaToia Marchand and Tamika Jones, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Ferdinand was Maintenance Man for Jefferson Parish Public School System for 18 years. He also worked at Advance Auto and O'Reilly's auto parts for a number of years. Ferdinand was baptized at a young age under the leadership of Reverend Paul. He was a devoted choir member at Corine Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor J. Bailey. His current member was with Greater Galilee under the Leadership of Pastor Jerry Henry of New Orleans, Louisiana. Ferdinand graduated from West Jefferson High at the age of 17. He joined the United States Army July 29, 1972. He served in the military for seventeen years, and four years in the Army National Guard. On November 30, 2024 at three thirty in the morning the angels gave him his wings. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend Graveside Service honoring the life of Ferdinand Francis at Southeast Louisiana Veterans Cemetery, 34888 Grantham College Drive Slidell, LA 70460 on Monday, January 13, 2025 at 11:00am. There will be a visitation held on Monday, January 13, 2025 at 9:00am until 9:45am at Duplain W. Rhodes Funeral Home, 1020 Virgil Street Gretna, LA. Arrangements entrusted to Duplain W.
