Donald Boue

Donald Steven Boué (5/15/1945-08/31/2021) joined his Redeemer a day after his birth city experienced the fury of Hurricane Ida. Donald’s remains were interred in a private family ceremony on September 17 2021 at Hope Mausoleum in New Orleans, LA alongside his late parents George F. Boué Sr. and Alverta “Deucey” Marquez Boué. Donald is survived by his sister and roommate Lurline Boué Soignet of Baton Rouge, La., brothers George F. Boué Jr. of Metairie, La., Gary R. Boué (Patricia) of Meisenheim, Germany, and surrogate brother Gary Dempsey (Tessie) of Houston, Tx. Donald is also survived by his loving children Dane S. Boué (Nina) of New Orleans, La., Darin C. Boué (Maria) of Metairie, La., and Yvette A. Boué of Tampa, Fl. Donald’s memory will be cherished by his grandchildren Daniel N. Boué (Dane) of Amman, Jordan and Sofia M. Boué (Darin) of Metairie, La. Donald was also dearly loved by his Nieces and Nephews: the late Charles S. Soignet Jr., Donna M. Boué (Michelle), the late Michael E. Soignet (Allison), Stephanie Boué Cazenave (Dean), the late Brett F. Soignet, Lisa Soignet Sonnier (Jonathan), Michelle Boué Heidingsfelder (Todd), Brandi McCary Powell (Evan), Leslie A. Soignet, George F. Boué III (Stacy) and all of their extended families. The family expresses their appreciation for the love and prayers of the “Kelly” cousins (Lynn, Charles, Karen, Kim and Darnell), Rosemary Rodrigue, Linda Romano, Jeanne Lagasse Sampognaro (Vincent), and James “Jay” Lagasse III. A 1963 graduate of Redemtorist High School, Donald was loved by classmates who he remained in contact with through his final days. Donald will also be dearly remembered by management, co-workers, and long time customers of Comeaux Furniture and Appliances where he worked from a young man for 22 yrs. Similarly he will be missed and remembered by the staff and co-workers of Canon Hospice, both in New Orleans and Baton Rouge, where he enjoyed a lengthy second career as an LPN. The family wishes to express their gratitude to the doctors and staff at Ochsner O’Neal Ln. in Baton Rouge, La., the doctors and staff at MD Anderson in Houston, Tx., the staff, nurses and assistants at The Crossing at Clarity Hospice in Baton Rouge, La., and the staff, nurses and assistants at the Sanctuary at Passages Hospice in New Orleans, La. A celebration of life will be held in his honor for extended family and friends who wish to attend at a later date TBD.
