Anita Irvin-LeViege, CPC was born on May 18, 1968, in New Orleans, Louisiana, to Mr. and Mrs. Algy Irvin Sr. While giving to those she loved, Anita went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on January 3, 2021, along with her beloved dog, Chloe. Anita is preceded in death by her late husband, Mr. Donald Rucker, and her maternal and paternal grandparents. Anita was raised in the Lower Ninth Ward of New Orleans with four siblings. Her parents raised her to be God fearing, responsible, and self-sufficient. She was baptized at Branch Bell Baptist Church and was an active member until she moved out of New Orleans as an adult. She attended Hardin Elementary, Lawless High School, and graduated from the Academy of the Holy Angels. She received a Medical Coding certificate from the University of New Orleans and a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Phoenix in Accounting. Given Anita’s commitment to excellence, she earned a master’s degree (with honors) in Human Resources and Management from Keller Graduate School of Management. Anita moved to Atlanta, Georgia, in 2004 and lived there for 13 years with wonderful friends, coworkers, and neighbors until returning home in 2017 and joining Bell Baptist Church in Thibodaux, Louisiana. On April 18, 2020, Anita joined in holy matrimony to Kenneth LeViege whom she loved dearly. The two were fortunate to reconnect later in life. Their love was rare…one of a kind – built on commitment, trust, respect, and faith in God. All who knew Anita and Kenneth were overjoyed with their union. They had dreams and plans for their life together. Anita was so excited about being part of the LeViege family. She adored her in-laws, Bishop and Mrs. Earl LeViege Sr., brother-in-law, Bradford LeViege (Rutez), sister-in-law, Patricia Perry (Irvin), Pat’s son Eric (Lena), Kenneth’s son and granddaughter, Corey and Camella and the other members of the family. She was a member of the family’s church, Gethsemane Church of God in Christ United, and enjoyed the members. The LeViege family often described Anita as the epitome of excellence. The church members saw her as a guiding light into Kenneth’s future. Anita was a meticulous and health conscious person who enjoyed many outdoor activities such as biking, running, horseback riding, and tennis. Because of her love of the outdoors, she joined her parents in farming and managing the citrus farm. Anita challenged herself regularly to become better both personally and professionally. She participated in marathons, attained higher education, completed specialized trainings, and obtained professional certifications. Her work ethic was impeccable. Anita was a no nonsense, honest, and trustworthy friend. She was creative in drawing and decorating, she possessed a gifted keen eye for perfection. She loved to cook and was a phenomenal baker – she made a mouth-watering cream cheese pound cake craved by all. There was no limit to Anita. Whatever she set her mind to, she excelled at it! Anita had a promising and upward career as a Certified Professional Medical Coder with certifications in multiple areas. She was a loyal employee and a member of Komplete Systems Integrators where she served as Human Resources Manager. She was beloved by her co-workers and the management team, many of whom she considered dear friends. They all respected and valued her insight. She viewed them too as part of her extended family. Anita was that “go-to” type of employee; the one you can always count on to get the job done. Anita leaves to cherish her memories her devoted husband, Kenneth LeViege; her parents, Mary and Algy Irvin Sr.; her sisters, Angela Irvin Dupard and Anissa Irvin Vines (Dain); her brothers Algy Irvin Jr. (Kermie) and Antoine Irvin (Tresa); nieces, Kristen, Kacia, Amyri; nephews, Jaden, Antoine, Algy III, and Aiden; her in-laws, Mrs. Almeta Luter and Bishop Earl LeViege Sr.; brother-in-law, Bradford LeViege (Rutez); sister-in-law Pat Daniels (Irvin); Pat’s son Eric (Lena), step-son Corey and Corey’s daughter Camella; step-daughter, Angela Flowers (a Nana to Ametra Tipton and Blake Parker); godchildren, Zion and Trenton Livingston and Antoine Irvin Jr.; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and loving friends. Friends and family are invited to attend a visitation to pay respect on Saturday, January 9, 2021 from 9:00 am – 10:00 am at Branch Bell Baptist Church located at 1231 St. Maurice Ave., New Orleans, LA, 70117. In lieu of COVID-19, a mask will be required and temperatures checked before entry.
